About the Event
In 1983, the United States Congress passed, and then President Reagan signed, a bill to create an federal holiday to honor the life, memory, and influence of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Now, to remember and honor King’s ideals, sacrifice and contributions to our nation, we come together to pray, to sing, to celebrate, but also to re-pledge our own commitment to nonviolence, peace and the pursuit of justice.
This Holiday Program offers a fitting place to make that commitment publicly and in communion with a diverse community of like-minded people. The event is free and open to all.
The event features an invocation, speeches from community leaders, music and a benediction. The parade immediately follows, starting from a nearby location.
When available, the program for the event will be made available on this page.
