About the Event

 The Martin Luther King Coalition (MLK) of Oklahoma City has established an Essay and Poster Contest for elementary, middle, and high school students for the 2017 Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. 

This contest is to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. The essay and poster should be about Martin Luther King, Jr. in association with the 2021 MLK Coalition theme, Pending.

There will be $100 awarded to the First Place essay and poster contest winners and $50 will be awarded to the Second Place essay and poster contest winners from each category: elementary, middle, and high school students. The awards will be given to a youth whose essay and/or poster met all the guidelines and receive the most points established by the contest review board for the essay and poster. 

The students may write an essay and/or draw a poster. Please review the enclosed guidelines and have any of your students that would like to participate submit an essay and/or poster to the Essay and Poster Contest Chairperson, Alexis D. Combs. If you have any questions, please contact Essay and Poster Contest Chairperson at adcombs1@gmail.com The essays and posters will be picked up from your school office by a member of the MLK Coalition Thursday, December 15, 2020 not later than 2:30 p.m.
